Artist Statement:
Mary Robinson
Mary Robinson originally from Arlington, VA, Memphis, TN, and Spokane, WA has resided in Ellensburg for the last 10 years.
Mary has always been interested in painting landscapes and abstracts in oil and other media. She specializes in color combinations, mixing media and painting her surroundings, that include but are not limited to the barns from around Kittitas County and surrounding areas.
Graduating from Ft. Wright in 1977 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts she then moved to Central Washington University to further her studies where she met, then married her husband Bruce Robinson in 1979.
For over 30 years he has been her encouragement for many works, from all over Washington State. Mary continues her painting and owns a family run, sign business with her husband Bruce and daughter Bonnie, furthering a more diverse outlet for her art and the ability to experiment with new media. The most recent thing Mary has been in is the annual Paint Ellensburg event in 2005. At that event Mary’s paintings sold for the highest price to date.
